An international principle for patent protection is the requirement of novelty. This means that a patent application needs to be filed before a new product is presented. As most products of The Friday File are patentable, only the ones for which patent protection has been applied for, are shown on this site. Presently, there is only one product that meets this requirement: the Real Value Mortgage.

The Real Value Mortgage is a mortgage type, wherein the amount of loan payments periodically adjusts with inflation. For the borrower this means that initial loan payments can be lower or the total amount of loan payments can be reduced, thanks to a shortening of the loan term. Even a combination of these two options is possible: lower initial loan payments and a reduction of total interest costs. The Real Value Mortgage comes in three flavors:
